A guided photographic holiday to Western Greenland, September 2023

A delightful opportunity to sample some of West Greenland's stunning scenery. We arrived in Ilulissat, Western Greenland, on 5 Sept 2023, via Copengagen and Keflavik (Iceland). Our guide was renowned photographer Raymond Hoffman. The bare ancient metamorphic geology was enhanced by icebergs shed into the sea from the Ilulissat Icefjord. Focus was on stunning evening sailing among the icebergs of Disco Bay, interspersed with tours of the neat Ilulissat town and its surroundings and a visit to the picturesque Inuit village of Oqaatsut at Rodebay. On land, the sled dogs were an important feature and provided opportunities for portrait shots. Our sincere thanks go to the kind staff of the comfortable Hotel Arctic, to our guide, Raymond Hoffman for his excellent organisation and expert advice and to the cheerful and helpful staff on the boats.
