Rottnest Island, WA - Macro and Close-up

© Copyright Ian Robertson

This is a selection of the small-stuff around Rottnest Island. A wide variety of brightly coloured ascidians may be found under ledges and inside caves, along with orange corals and bright sponges. A good torch helps! The nudibranchs around Rottnest Island are exquisite but take a little patience to find. By far, the most common is the blue-red and black Chromodoris westraliensis. But there are others... These are the gems of Rottnest. These pictures were taken on film with a Nikonos V and subsequently scanned.
