'Of Wrecks and Whalesharks', Cenderawasih Bay, Indonesia - 2014

All these photgraphs are copyright to Ian Robertson, 2014

An astounding trip to Cenderawasih Bay in Papua with Jeff and Dawn Mullins and a select group of like-minded U/W photographers in August/September 2014. Visibility was 15-30 m and depths varied from 15-30 m. Sea temperatures were a balmy 28-30ÂșC. The boat diving was safe, well-organized and the dive guides were superb. Whalesharks, a major feature, were some of the most gentle giants we could ever wish for. The reef diving was wonderful and the wrecks were particularly photogenic - spiced with the discovery, on one wreck, of five Japanese Type 2 'ash-can' depthcharges. Unexploded ordnance on WWII wrecks is to be expected. This photogallery of 40 pictures is but a taste of what is there. A big 'Thank You' to Jeff and Dawn, the Dive Guides and the Boat Crew.
